SEASIDE — After sampling the Oregon coast market by opening a tasting room in Cannon Beach in 2016, Aberdeen-based Westport Winery soon began searching for a permanent location on the North Oregon Coast.

In January, the winery opened a tasting room and gift shop at 810 Broadway, while retaining the Cannon Beach location.

“We realize this block of Broadway is an area in need of revitalization and we’re delighted to be a part of that effort along with our neighboring businesses,” said Westport Winery co-owner Kim Roberts.

“We still have a couple spaces available for rent in the Broadway building, so we hope we will find just the right businesses to blend with our vibe.”

New tenants in the building include The Capricorn Pub, Rust & Dust and Seaside Massage, in addition to the winery.

“Plus, we decided to open Seaside Kites and Ocean’s Daughter Mermaid Lounge (pirates are welcome) within our space,” Roberts said. “We recognize that this is a family destination and it is our goal to have fun and safe activities for all ages.”

Real estate agent Karen Radditz showed the building to Roberts.

“It needed some TLC but the bones of the building were really cool,” Roberts said. “The area we decided to put our tasting room and gift shop was nearly turnkey ready. At the same time, just like on those real estate shows on TV, it was a little bit above our budget. Our family met and decided to take the risk.”
