Over the weekend, we again collaborated with a rescue group that pulls dogs from crowded California shelters to save them from possible euthanasia. And we got some wonderful dogs that will be ready for adoption into loving homes soon.
Some of them haven’t been given names yet, so for the time being, we will just provide descriptions.
There is a very friendly white and brown female Jack Russell terrier/doxie who is a very nice small medium size. She is very interested in affection when anyone stops by her cage.
“Toffee” does already have a name. She is a beautiful tan shepherd/husky mix who recently had to have her right front leg amputated. More information about this will be available soon. She is very quiet and gentle.
All adorable, fuzzy curls describes a little female terrier cross. She is white and red, about 4 years old, and cute as a bug.
Also very cute with pretty and unusual markings is a little spayed female girl who looks to be possibly a spaniel/Papillion cross. She is about 2 — a great age to find her new forever home.
“Arlo” is a very friendly pittie cross who is under a year old and still has a sweet “puppy look” about him. He is tan and brown, with a very friendly demeanor and a perpetually wagging tail.
The last new dog is a little black and brown Chihuahua cross female, about 2 years old. She is a little shy right now, but one can tell she is interested in meeting people but just might take a little longer to warm up.
Over the next week or so, all the new pups will get vetted, and be up for adoption soon. But they are ready to receive visitors, so come and “window shop” if you or your family is interested in adopting a new best friend.
Garage sale coming
Every year the Humane Society participates in the Memorial Day weekend garage sale and it is one of our most important fundraisers. We are beginning to schedule times for our supporters to bring in items they wish to donate for the sale.
Scheduled times are April 13, 20, 21 and 27, and May 11, 12, and all week prior to the sale, May 21 through 25.
General collection times will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day and will be located at the shelter Annex building just west of the shelter building.
We are very much hoping that our supporters will donate good, usable items to us for this important event. Please, no clothes, shoes, or broken or non-working items. Thank you for your loyal support!
The South Pacific County Humane Society Animal Shelter is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Adoptions require approval of an adoption application. You can find an application on the shelter web site, beachpets.com, and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also fill out an application at the shelter when you come by to meet cats and dogs.
