Animal Shelter Report: It’s a great time to get smitten with a kitten

This has been a banner year for kittens — maybe because we had a relatively mild winter. Overall, we think our consistent spay and neuter programs have made a good difference in reducing the number of unwanted kittens in the community. But unfortunately, we still have a ways to go, apparently.

We have some darling new kitten arrivals who are waiting to find forever homes. “Dorito” is a handsome buff orange boy who is a little shy initially, but warms up quickly and begins purring with just a little “sweet talk.” Everyone knows that orange boys are the best! His sister (we think) “Luna” is a pretty little dilute calico who is also a little shy, but loves attention and will start her purr motor for you.

“Thunder” and “Lightning” are two very cute littermates. “Thunder” is a gorgeous little Siamese mix, and “Lightning” is an adorable gray and white girl with fluffy medium-length hair and cute ear tufts.

These kittens are only $100 and are all fully vetted — altered, given vaccines, flea meds and treated for worms, and tested for FIV/FELV.

Special on tiny tigers

We have some very cute tiger or tabby kittens that we want to feature so we are offering them at a special low adoption fee of only $50!

These cute little guys come in all the pretty tabby patterns from classic with large swirls of black, to spotted and mackerel patterns and some with pretty white accents. Some of our tabbies available include Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Mackerel and Charlie.

They are all real “people pleasers” and will bring a lot of love and fun to their new homes.

Adult kitty specials

For the folks not wanting the mischievous energy level that kittens can sometimes bring, we have some wonderful adult kitties available. All are also fully vetted and are being offered at great prices through August.

Adult (1 to 7 years old) are only $25, and senior kitties (8-plus years) are $15. And last but not least, our best sale is for senior people wanting to adopt a senior cat. This happy moment can happen for only $5!

So, if you are interested in a darling kitten or great adult cat at a wonderful price, come and look at our nice selection now. By fall, kitten season is winding down, and few, if any are available to adopt.
