During “kitten season” from spring to fall, much attention is focused on the babies and the adult kitties sometimes go unnoticed.
This is quite sad, because it can cause very adoptable adult kitties to linger their time away in shelters. But not everyone wants a mischievous, active kitten and there are several good reasons why adult cats can often be the best bet.
With an adult cat, their personality has developed and one can tell if they are playful, shy, affectionate or outgoing. Adult cats often have developed coping mechanisms in their lives that help them adjust to changes, such as moving. And adult cats tend to be more consistently loving and affectionate. Kittens do enjoy affection, but their attention spans are much shorter. They are like “yeah you can pet me but make it short, I have playing to do!”
We have some wonderful adult kitties right now, and to promote their adoptions into loving forever homes, we are having a great kitty sake. Fully vetted adults (1 to 7 years) are only $25; senior (8-plus years) are just $15, and for senior people (65-plus) the cost to adopt a senior cat is only $5!
Thumbs is one of the very adoptable adult kitties in the free-range playroom. She gets her name because she is polydactyl, meaning she has extra toes. Cute paws like mittens! She is affectionate and a joy to cuddle and pet.
Diana is a lovely five-year-old gray kitty who is friendly and talkative and purrs a lot. She might be a great choice for an adopter wanting a dog friendly cat, as she has been best buddies with a dog in the past. Diana is also harness trained and would be a good choice for someone who likes to travel with their pet.
Sweetie Pie truly lives up to her name. She is a beautiful dark tabby Maine coon mix kitty who starts purring the minute you approach her. Her fur is soft like bunny fur, and she loves to be petted. Nothing aloof about this girl!
Alani is a young, small girl with orange and white colors and a very cute and unusual stub tail. She is outgoing and affectionate, and probably would do well in a home with gentle children.
Please come and meet the adult kitties and take advantage of this great sale. Adult kitties need love too!
