LONG BEACH — The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a high-wind warning from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday for Raymond, Long Beach, Ocean Park, Naselle, Cathlamet and Cape Disappointment.
Wind gusts Friday night and Saturday morning hit 50 mph at Radar Ridge near Naselle and at Cape Disappointment, with sustained speeds to 35 near Naselle and 43 at the cape.
This afternoon on beaches and headlands there will be a south wind 30 to 45 mph with gusts to 65 mph. Coastal communities can expect a south wind 25 to 35 mph with gusts 45 to 60 mph.
Expect a sharp increase in wind around noon today. Strongest winds are expected between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.
These winds could result in tree damage, including downed limbs and power lines. Isolated power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles and trailers.
