OYSTERVILE — At 3 p.m. on Father’s Day, June 17, the Killingsworth Family Musicians will open the 41st Music Vesper Season at the Oysterville Church.

They have performed for 25 of those years, “but this will be our last,” they say. “Getting the family together has become a lot like herding cats.” Casey Killingsworth, spokesman for the group, served as Oysterville postmaster from 1993 to 2001 with stints in the post offices at Long Beach and Astoria, as well. He is a familiar figure in the area, as are his brothers Monte and Sean and his children Meagan and Josh. All will be performing (“except maybe Sean” says Casey) on Sunday.

Officiating at the Vesper service will be Mary Evelyn Long, pastor of Ocean Park’s United Methodist Church. Organist Sandy Nielson will accompany the congregational hymn singing and Sydney Stevens will provide the welcoming “Oysterville Moment.” The public is encouraged to attend.
