NASELLE — Coffee drinkers will soon see a new face at the window of Mochas and More. On Saturday, the penultimate day of the year, Laura Ray sold her last cup of coffee and turned the reins over to new owners, Kim and Stephan Cherry. Ray has owned and operated the coffee shop, located at the intersection of State Routes 4 and 401, for the past five years. After the start of the new year, she will begin working at Okie’s Select Market in Naselle where her husband Glen is the manager.
The Cherrys are going through the required permitting process and expect to reopen the shop in two weeks.
“Laura has been familiarizing me on all the equipment for the last several days,” said Kim Cherry. “When we reopen, we will be continuing to serve the same great coffees and drinks and our menu will look pretty much the same.”
Social media has displayed many best wishes from local residents to Ray as well as welcoming comments to the Cherrys.
Last Wednesday, Cherry posted, ““Hello Naselle! I am so excited to become a part of your fantastic community. I have met several of you today and I just know that I am really going to love getting to know you all! Laura is so wonderful and truly a master at her beverage-making craft. I am carefully watching and learning from her and hope to come close to filling her talented shoes!! Just a little bit about me: My husband, Stephan is just the BEST! He will be popping in to help run the shop from time to time. He is a chef, so this is a good thing! We have four amazing boys, two of which are still at home. We live in Long Beach. We are big-time dog lovers and have two, a large, fluffy, lovable Saint Bernard, Zoe, and a relatively new addition, a lab mix crazy-pants puppy named Tucker. So to all you animal lovers out there … please bring your pets by too!”
