PENINSULA — The Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau honored Cheryl Broom as their Volunteer of the Month.
Broom was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. After visiting Seaview in 1997 she felt hypnotically drawn to retire here. She was very eager to join the LBPVB family of volunteers in 2003 and the following year she also started volunteering at the Columbia-Pacific Heritage Museum in Ilwaco. Broom also spends an entire week working at the information booth at the International Kite Festival every summer; it’s her favorite time of the year.
Broom presently lives in her blended three-generation home with her two daughters, their significant others and grandchildren. She is a happy person and is highly organized; she keeps all of the bureau’s brochures, visitor guides and storage area neat and well stocked.
According to Suze Overgaard, volunteer coordinator, “We couldn’t imagine the Visitors Bureau without her! Thanks for all you do Cheryl, we so appreciate you!”
The Long Beach Peninsula is always looking for friendly people to join their team of ambassadors. If you are interested, please contact Suze@funbeach.com or call us at 360-642-2400.
