SEAVIEW — Summer Salsa, a fundraiser for Pacific County Immigrant Support, packed the historic Shelburne Hotel Sunday, June 3. More than 150 attendees gathered to bid on a hundred donated items as diverse as a day on a donkey farm to fine art, fresh homemade bread, an emergency readiness kit, and Raku potter. A highlight of the fundraiser was a challenge by Bill Weismann that within minutes raised approximately 1,700 to help Peninsula families impacted by ICE.
According to organizer Stephanie Serrano, “The event exceeded all our expectations — in donations and turnout! Together we raised $7,900!”
Guests enjoyed hearty appetizers prepared by The Shelburne, and an afternoon of great music by brass player Lew Chapman, jazz guitarist David Drury, and vocalist Lilyana Doupe. Tangley Cottage Gardens donated flowers for the event.
