South Washington beach attracts July 4 crowd

This was the scene at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at Beards Hollow and Fishing Rocks at the south end of the Long Beach Peninsula’s main seashore. Sunny skies brought out a crowd, with heavy traffic on the beach and on Washington State Route 100 that loops through Cape Disappointment State Park. From the Beards Hollow overlook a smattering of early fireworks could be heard exploding down below.
