2004 IHS Homecoming : a wet, wonderful time

ILWACO - Wacky costumes and sparkling tiaras abounded last week at Ilwaco High School as Homecoming 2004 took place, culminating with the crowning of this year's king and queen (Brittany Greenfield and Ken Marroquin, above) at halftime of Friday night's football game, and a dance Saturday night.

Things got started the weekend before, as students decorated the school with spirit building posters.

The week continued with themed dress-up days each day of the week including one where students, to some hillarity, dressed up like the opposite sex.

Wednesday night saw one of the more popular activities, the annual bonfire on the beach, featuring a tug of war between the classes.

The IHS football team did their part in making this year's Homecoming a success, with a rousing 21-7 win in Friday night's game.

The Homecoming court was made up of princes and and princesses: Freshmen Emily Leonard and Jordan DeSimone, Sophomores Kyliegh Friend and Colton Chalker, Juniors Brooke Miller and Dylan Wirkkkala.

Senior princes and princesses: Tony Bartolus, Ariel Barker, Andrea Becken, Peter Gaynor, Nick Wilson-Codega, Lindsay Rider, Markus Peterson and Matt Tarabochia.
