OYSTERVILLE — Double J and the Boys happily return to Vespers Sunday, June 30, still full of surprises and bursting with their cowboy spirit.
This year they will take listeners fishing for sturgeon, sailing on Willapa Bay, and on a free trip to a Parisian café.
They also promise several surprise songs with a new slant on aging. Charlie Watkin’s happy accordion, Janet Clark’s lively fiddle, and Judy Eron’s western yodeling are sure to fill the historic Oysterville Church with fun and humor, even on serious subjects.
Deacon Dick Wallace of St. Mary’s Parish, Seaview, will conduct the 3 p.m. service.
Oysterville storyteller Tucker Wachsmuth has a new tale or two in mind for the Oysterville Moment that traditionally begins the hour-long service.
“We encourage Peninsula residents as well as summer visitors to come as you are and enjoy our little country church with the big community spirit,” says Carol Wachsmuth, Vespers coordinator. “See you then!”
