PACIFIC and CLATSOP COUNTIES — With tourist season in the rearview mirror, locals will take the place of tourists this weekend.

Locals can explore various tourist attractions for free or reduced prices through Hometown Tourism Day, a two-day event occurring Nov. 10-11.

Take a look at which locations are participating in the event:

Washington:

• Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum: from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 115 Lake Street in Ilwaco. Discount: free admission.

• Cranberry Museum & Gift Shop: from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2907 Pioneer Road in Long Beach. Discount: free admission.

• Knappton Cove Heritage Center, Historic U.S. Quarantine Station: from 1 to 4 p.m. three miles east of Astoria-Megler Bridge at Highway 401 in Washington. Discount: free admission, including access to the museum, nature path and a 2 p.m. talk on the 1918 Flu Pandemic.

• Long Beach Peninsula Visitor Bureau: from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3914 Pacific Way in Seaview. Discount: mention “hometown tourism” for a free canvas bag of local sites information.

• Northwest Carriage Museum: from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 314 Alder Street in Raymond. Discount: 50 percent off admission and 10 percent gift shop discount.

• Pacific County Historical Society Museum and Visitor Center: from noon to 3 p.m. at milepost 54 off Highway 101 in South Bend. Discount: free admission.

• Willapa National Wildlife Refuge: during daylight hours at milepost 24 off Highway 101 in Washington. Discount: free admission, including guided walks at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Art and Cutthroat Climb trails.

• World Kite Museum: from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 303 Sid Snyder Drive West in Long Beach. Discount: $1 off admission.

• Bumble Bee Seafoods Hanthorn Cannery Museum: from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Pier 39, 100 39th Street in Astoria. Discount: free admission, featuring chowder and cake, and selfies with the new June Hog exhibit.

• Cannon Beach History Center: from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1387 S. Spruce Street in Cannon Beach. Discount: free admission; 20 percent off gift shop.

• Columbia River Maritime Museum: from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1792 Marine Drive in Astoria. Discount: free Quarter Deck magazine for mentioning “hometown tourism.”
