RAYMOND — Area quilters are invited to show their finished projects in the annual free show hosted by the Willapa Harbor Quilters in August. That means now is the time to get sewing.

The show will take place Aug. 2 and 3 at Raymond High School. Quilts and other items such as table runners and lap robes may be entered for the show by anyone in the area. You don’t have to be a member of the Willapa Harbor Quilters to show your work.

Entries will be accepted a couple days before the event. Details about how to enter will be publicized closer to the show dates.

The show also will feature the 2013 raffle quilt created by the Willapa Harbor Quilters, with tickets at $1 each. Funds raised through the raffle are applied toward the group’s scholarship fund and charity projects.

The quilt show is open to the public at no charge. This year’s event will feature vendors from Quilt Harbor in Aberdeen and Quilter’s Junction in Centralia.

Willapa Harbor Quilters meet each Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Raymond First Baptist Church on Duryea Street. Interested visitors are always welcome.

Those with access to email can direct quilt show questions to Yvonne Smith at jerialf@yahoo.com.
