FORT COLUMBIA - An afternoon of Finnish music and dance takes place in the theater at Fort Columbia State Park, Saturday, Sept. 3, starting at 1 p.m. The program features Wilho Saari playing the kantele, an ancient traditional Finnish instrument, accordionists Jorgen Madsen and Sven Sundstrom, and the lower Columbia Finnish-American community dance troupe, The Flying Finns. Admission is free with a $5 parking fee. This event is presented by Northwest Folklife and the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission.
