FROM SHOALWATER TO BRIDGEWATER

DAMIAN MULINIX/Chinook Observer
After years of running the award-winning Shoalwater Restaurant in Seaview, Tony and Ann Kischner now operate the new Bridgewater Bistro in Astoria.

SEAVIEW - "It was all started by mistake - I was going to be a teacher and she was going to be a veterinary technologist," Tony Kischner laughs as he describes how he got into the restaurant business. Some may know Kischner and his wife, Ann, from their 10 years at the Lightship Restaurant or their new business venture in Astoria, the Bridgewater Bistro. But it's safe to say that most locals know them for their 27-year success with the Shoalwater Restaurant at Seaview's Shelburne Inn.

Working in restaurants during his summers at college, Tony remembers being "thrown into management after graduation" at a restaurant in downtown Seattle.
