Thursday's Art Walk last of this yearILWACO - The Port of Ilwaco is kicking off the fall with its final Art Walk of the season from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 8. Shoalwater Cove Gallery is hosting this month's event with new originals from Northwest Artist Noel Thomas. The Wade Gallery is showing Bruce Peterson's "Portals," a photographic collection of Scandinavian doorways. The Crew House Gallery invites you see Don Nisbett's paintings of Lewis and Clark on the beach. Time Enough Books is bringing out the much sought after "Beer Making Books." All the shops and restaurants will have Octoberfest specials with bratwurst a plenty. There will be refreshments, entertainment and our great raffle with dinner specials, art and gifts from all the Port businesses. So come and celebrate the upcoming autumn with a stroll along Waterfront Way and friends.

Chinook summer gathering SaturdayBAY CENTER - The Chinook Indians are holding a summer gathering from noon to 5 p.m., Sept. 10 at Bush Park in Bay Center. This annual summer gathering will feature a salmon dinner which includes: salmon, corn, frybread, coleslaw, and a drink. The cost is $10 Adults, $8 Seniors, $5 kids (hot dogs are available for kids). Eric Ellis to play Pauly's BistroPORT of ILWACO - Local singer/songwriter Eric Ellis will play a show at Pauly's Bistro Sunday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. Ellis' songs are an original mixture of older musical styles, set in today's world. Special 9/11 service planned this SundayOCEAN PARK - The Ocean Park United Methodist Church is hosting a special remembrance service on Sunday, Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This service will focus on peace, compassion and understanding among nations. Chowder walk/run takes foot on Sept. 25PENINSULA - On Sunday Sept. 25 the Ilwaco and Long Beach Merchants' Associations are hosting the Beach to Chowder Challenge. This is a 10K run/5K run/walk that will begin at the Port of Ilwaco and finish under the "arch" in downtown Long Beach. This event is designed for the whole family with prizes, awards, gifts, T-shirts and great chowder feed sponsored by some of the Peninsula's best restaurants.
