LONG BEACH — The entry from Ken Wilson, a 77-year-old graphic artist and resident of Kuna, Idaho was chosen as the poster for the 37th Annual Washington State International Kite Festival. His interests center around digital graphic arts and scale-model lighthouse building from the original government blueprints. His winning Kite Festival entry exemplifies his favorite styles of art deco and art nouveau.

The Washington State International Kite Festival is scheduled for Aug. 21 through Aug. 27. Starting on Monday and ending on Sunday this extravaganza boasts skies ablaze with color, high-flying action and choreographed movement. Washington’s Kite Festival draws famous kite fliers from all around the world, and tens of thousands awed spectators, many of which participate in the fun with their own kite flying adventures.
