PENINSULA - The Marine Corps League North Coast Detachment 1228 has launched their 2007 Operation Toys for Tots continuing to Dec. 20.

All toys, books and stocking stuffers will be distributed to kids in our local area. John Hoechlin of Oysterville has placed containers at Key Bank and the Chinook Observer in Long Beach; All Season's Kids Stuff in Chinook; The Bank of the Pacific in Ocean Park and Ilwaco; Harbor Lights Motel, Restaurant and Lounge at the Port of Ilwaco; Naselle High School and the Peninsula Senior Activity Center in Klipsan. Watch for them and drop your new, unwrapped toy for children between the ages of one and 16 years old in these containers. Your support is essential to the success of this project.

If you are unable to reach or locate a Toys for Tots container, call John at 665-5555 or Mel at 503-861-2030. If you have other questions, call Marlene at the Chinook Observer at 642-8181.
