SEAVIEW - Vince Wixon, Northwest educator and poet, will read poetry at the Shelburne Inn in Seaview at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18. Wixon is the author of two books of poems, "The Square Grove" and "Seed" and over the years has published various magazines and journals, including The Cresset, and in three anthologies. Two of Wixon's poems have been nominated for a Pushcard Prize, and, in May, Garrison Keillor read his poem Tornado Weather on The Writers Almanac. Wixon has produced videos on Oregon poets Lawson Inada and William Stafford, and has edited three Stafford books. Wixon imparts poems of place. Those places include his beloved Northwest and recollections of his early years in the Midwest. There is no charge for the reading which is open to the public. Call 642-2442 for more information.
