A few years ago, there was much media hype about the possible link between the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism. These rumors persist on the Internet to this day. The original study that proposed this link looked at only 12 children with autism and was seriously flawed. Many well-done studies of children in the United States and European countries have failed to find a link between vaccines and autism. For details, see: (www.cdc.gov/nip/vacsafe/concerns/autism/autism-mmr.htm).
