LONG BEACH PENINSULA — The Long Beach Peninsula was aglow with fireworks and revelry over the first July weekend as thousands made their way to the 28-mile strip to celebrate America's Independence Day.
Ilwaco kicked off the festivities on Saturday night by hosting a fireworks show at the Port of Ilwaco in front of hundreds who lined the waterfront.
On Monday, Seaview hosted its 11th annual Fourth of July parade with dozens participating, a prelude to the climax later that day in Long Beach, when thousands poured onto local beach approaches in anticipation of the Long Beach fireworks show.Â
In Ocean Park, there was a community picnic and a procession/parade of a few children marking the tradition in the spirit of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin.
