NASELLE - The Willapa Anglers are hosting a salmon-raising auction Saturday, Aug. 4, starting at 5 p.m. with appetizers and drinks to raise funds for feeding 100,000 late-run coho salmon.

The Naselle Hatchery Late Coho Fundraiser has a goal of raising $5,000 to buy feed for the hatchery. These feisty fin-clipped coho salmon will return to Naselle River as hefty 9- to 20-pound-plus adults two to three years after release in late October through early January. Willapa Anglers are raising the hatchery-feed money because of a shortage in the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife budget. Please place this date on your calendar. Auction and raffle items will include art, guided fishing trips, fishing tackle, dinners, services and more. There will be fishing tackle for gear- and fly-anglers.

For further information, or to donate auction or raffle items, call Frank Amato at 800-541-9498; e-mail; or call Ron Nanney at 484-3409.
