LONG BEACH - Joseph and Natalie Gisler will celebrate their 65th anniversary on Wednesday, Aug. 8. Both were born, raised, and still live in Long Beach. Joe served in the U.S. Army during World War II advancing to master sergeant. In August 1942 he hitch-hiked from his army base to South Bend, where he and Natalie united their lives. Joe and Natalie built the first home they owned in Seaview from lumber salvaged from a Ft. Canby Army barracks. This is where they would raise their four children. A noted contractor, Joe built the first home in Surfside, among many other projects in this area. Congratulations!
