ILWACO - The Ilwaco High School Art Show and Sale is being held at the Ilwaco Heritage Museum in Ilwaco from Saturday, May 17, through Memorial Day Weekend. The show will close May 27.

Students and teacher Brigid Byrne would like to invite the community to see the work of the students at the high school.

The show is a juried show. Students submit work that they would like to have exhibited and a judge who does not know the students picks the pieces for display based on impact, unity, design and technique or craftsmanship. The judges are Sonja May and Rodney Maxwell-Muir, both accomplished, knowledgeable and well-traveled arts.

If five pieces of work are accepted from one student, that student is a featured artist and gets a special place for his or her display. First, second and third place awards are given as well as a Judge's Award and a People's Best of Show Award based on votes from the visiting public.
