Veterans Day program this FridayNASELLE - The public, with a special invitation to veterans, is invited to attend a Veterans' Day program on Friday, Nov. 9 at 12:30 p.m., at the Naselle School.

November school calendarThere will be no school on Nov. 12, as the Veterans' Day holiday will be observed. Early release days at 12:30 p.m., Nov 14 through 16 for parent teacher conferences. Early release at 12:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov, 21, for the Thanksgiving break. Comet Booster Club Family Movie Night is on Friday, Nov. 30, at 6 p.m.

NYC crews help care for local cemeteriesNASELLE - "A grateful community sends a thank you to the Naselle Youth Camp students and staff for their excellent work in caring for the local cemeteries," states a note from members of the various community cemetery boards.

"Ellis Island"NASELLE - From 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, Nancy Bell Anderson will give a presentation on the Columbia River's "Ellis Island" at Naselle Timberland Library. The presentation will include an explanation of the historical significance of Knappton Cove, the site where the Columbia River Quarantine Station was established in 1899. A display of artifacts and a slide show of vintage photos taken at the site will augment the presentation.
