LONG BEACH - In their first school board meeting at the new district office site in Long Beach, the Ocean Beach School Board was updated on several ongoing projects and issues, and adopted a policy that has been a hot topic in the community for a couple months.

The policy regarding the naming of facilities and public places was approved Monday night. The policy - which can be viewed in its entirety on the Ocean Beach Web site: www.ocean.k12.wa.us/ - states that the board can appoint advisory committees upon public request to recommend names for such spaces available to be named.
