ILWACO - From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening, Aug. 3, Shoalwater Cove Gallery is presenting a special preview and artist reception of "Birds, Boats and Bowls," an exhibition of stunning oil paintings by Bellingham artist, Lorna Libert, together with exquisite pottery and sculpture by Seaview artist, David Campiche.

Don't miss this artist reception event featuring an extensive selection of vibrant and bold renditions of fishing related buildings and boats from our region, and Northwest seabirds of all sizes and descriptions. Local potter and sculptor, David Campiche will present his fabulous new work, including Anagama fired creations. Both artists will be on hand to meet and greet visitors.

Lorna describes her work: "Old fishing vessels and dilapidated buildings inspire my recent oil paintings. I am attracted to the crookedness and decay of these worn out structures that characterize the Pacific Northwest. Utilization of these subjects imparts cultural metaphors related to time, society, man and nature. I am attempting to open people's eyes and remind them of the humanity that these 20th Century relics represent."

Stop by Shoalwater Cove Gallery on the waterfront at the Port of Ilwaco for an exciting art experience! This show will run for one month, although the gallery will continue to show both artists' work. For more information contact the gallery at 877-665-4382, (, or ( )
