Shoalwater Restaurant back in the news

SEAVIEW - The month of August has been a busy one for the award-winning Shoalwater Restaurant in Seaview in more ways than one.

An article in the August issue of Sunset magazine entitled "Must-Try Pies" credits Shoalwater owner Ann Kischner's wild blackberry and apple crumb pie as one of "Washington's most irresistible homemade pies." Writer Jim Guilo also extols "the pies she produces in the fall combining pear, ginger and locally harvested cranberries."

The Shoalwater has again received the Award of Excellence from the prestigious Wine Spectator magazine "for having one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world." The Shoalwater's collection features over 500 different wines, with a strong emphasis on the growing number of high-quality wines produced in the Pacific Northwest.

The Shoalwater has recently announced its next Northwest Winemaker's dinner series which will kick off Friday, Nov. 1 in conjunction with the Second Annual Long Beach Peninsula Wild Mushroom Festival. The full series, which features special six-course dinners paired with Northwest wines, runs through May 2003 and can be accessed through the restaurant's website at:, or by calling the restaurant at 642-4142.
