PORT OF ILWACO - The Imperial Schooner Restaurant at the Port of Ilwaco served its 12,261st lunch order of fish and chips Saturday, Sept. 10, at 1:30 p.m. to a very lucky woman - Stacy Ferguson of Vernonia, Ore.

Thanks to the restaurant and the Ilwaco Harbor Village merchants, Ferguson will receive not only dinner for four at the restaurant and a fishing trip from Sea Breeze Charters, but merchandise and gift certificates from The Wade Gallery, Shoalwater Cove Gallery and Framing, Azure Salon and Spa, The Crew House Gallery, Time Enough Books, Nautical Brass and Coffee Net.

That's a lot of fish and chips and it doesn't count dinner orders. The restaurant opened in May 2004. Co-owner Clint Carter said they were planning on celebrating the 10,000th order of fish and chips recently but discovered they'd already passed that amount. They decided on 12,000, but that sounded too boring, so they added on the ages of all the restaurant's eight employees and came up with 12,261.
