ILWACO - The Ilwaco Odd Fellow Lodge No. 118 sponsored two students, Daniel Davis from Ilwaco High School and Sheriann Wirkkala from Naselle High School, for the 2001-2002 United Nations Pilgramage to New York.

Both students had to write a 500-word essay on the United Nations' involvement in the world and answer numerous questions to be chosen for this trip. The students spent 12 days with other teenagers from around the world.

On their return home, the Odd Fellows asked them to come to their lodge and talk about their trip. At that time they were presented with a plaque to take home and their names were added to a perpetual plaque which hangs in the dining room of the Odd Fellow Lodge in Ilwaco. Lodge members expressed thanks to Daniel and Sheriann for their time and for so ablely representing Ilwaco Lodge No 118.

Additionally, lodge members expressed gratitude to all the students who participated and to all bingo players for their involvement in this event. Without bingo, the lodge could not afford to give students this wonderful experience. They hope to send two more students to the United Nations pilgramage next year, and look forward to continued support.
