ILWACO — Not even winter-like weather could get in the way of the annual Memorial Day activities in Ilwaco Monday morning, as dozens turned out to honor those who never came home.

At the Ilwaco Cemetery, AT?RIGHT, representatives of the VFW and American Legion prepare for the ceremony with flags and memorial wreaths. Ilwaco was the last stop on a morning-long trek to all of the Peninsula cemeteries for flag-raising ceremonies.

ABOVE, Pat Manning prays prior to the roll call of Peninsula veterans and Coast Guardsmen who gave their lives at the Black Lake war memorial. Manning raised the flag following the event.
