ASTORIA - Columbia Memorial Hospital is proud to announce that Leslie Blasewitz has agreed to join their administrative team as their new nurse executive.

Blasewitz has more than 20 years of clinical and administrative healthcare experience, including executive nursing director, director of patient care services, director of women and children's services, clinical outcomes analyst, house supervisor, case management coordinator, perinatal nurse manager, and perinatal clinical specialist. Blasewitz has also held administrative responsibility for various nursing services areas.

Blasewitz received her B.S. in human development from University of California at Davis, a B.S. in nursing from Creighton University and her M.S. of Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has clinical expertise in obstetrics and perinatal nursing. She was Patient Care Center manager at Alta Bates Medical Center in California and nurse executive at Mad River Community Hospital in Arcata, Calif.

Blasewitz brings many skills to the organization including expertise in program development and implementation. Most of all, she enjoys working with people and supporting healthcare environments as they grow within their community.

"We are excited to welcome Leslie, her husband William and their dog June Bug to our hospital family," CMH said in a press release.
