SOUTH BEND — Enrique Benavidez, a full-time student at Grays Harbor Community College, has earned a spot on the President’s List.
Benevidez is a Drug Court participant who has maintained full compliance with his program, while also working nearly full-time as a tattoo artist. As part of the Therapeutic Courts program, Benavidez attended self-help meetings twice a week, while also going to Substance Use Disorder Treatment four times a week. Despite this heavy schedule, Benevidez was able to maintain a 4.0 GPA.
Tessa Clements, the Therapeutic Courts coordinator, noted that they are “incredibly proud of the hard work Enrique has demonstrated.”
After finishing school, Benavidez has a goal of helping others whose lives have been impacted by substance use. “We are enjoying watching him blossom into a contributing member of the community, and are excited about his goals,” said Clements.
