Chili Cook-off helps Food4Kids program

SURFSIDE — Surfside’s 10th annual Chili Cook-off last Saturday had a huge turnout on a gorgeous fall day. All proceeds went to our local Food4Kids backpack program.

Our best chili winners were: Julie Buckingham, pot 6, was first; Joni Brockman, pot 5, was second and Annette deLeest, pot 1, was third. They were given gift certificates donated by El Compadre and Great Day Cafe.

Thanks to all who came and enjoyed the music by George Coleman and Brian O’Connor. Also, thanks to our craft vendors and Community Relations Committee members who baked goodies and worked so hard to make this a success.
