Masons bid farewell to Herring

Members of Occident Lodge No. 48, Free and Accepted Masons, said goodbye and thanks to Art Herring with a pizza party at the lodge in Ilwaco Sunday. Herring, seated center, just turned 90. He was master of the Ilwaco lodge in 2002 and has led Masonic lodges in Beaverton and Seaside, as well as being an active leader in the Order of Eastern Star with his wife, Janet, who died earlier this year. He is leaving Ocean Park to live with his daughter, Ginny Meacham, who has homes in Port Ludlow and Henderson, Nev. Two other daughters, Cheryl DeLong and Lori Herman, seated right, live on the Long Beach Peninsula. Robbins, the district deputy, presented Herring with the Grand Master’s Achievement Award for his service to the fraternity.
