PENINSULA — Wellspring Community Network is inviting businesses, schools, nonprofits, faith-based organizations and community members to participate in Red Ribbon Week the week of Oct. 23 through Oct. 31.

The theme for 2017 is “Your Future is Key, So Stay Drug Free.”

Red Ribbon Week unites communities in a visible stand against drugs. It is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country, reaching millions of youth each year. This campaign is sponsored by the National Family Partnership, which helps citizens across the country come together to keep children, families and communities safe, healthy and drug-free. For more information about the campaign, visit www.redribbon.org.

In celebration, Long Beach Police Department will be decorating Ilwaco and Long Beach with red ribbons. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to wear and display red ribbons. By doing so, you show your support for drug prevention and education.

WellSpring Community Network is a local coalition dedicated to supporting community wellness in South Pacific County through active collaborations. For more information on how to get involved, visit www.wellspringpacific.org.
