NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ORDINANCE NO. 181 In accordance with Chapter 65.16 RCW, Pacific County is publishing a summary of Ordinance No. 181 relating to establishing the salaries of Pacific County’s Elected Officials and the proportion of full-time work authorized for its district courts. The full text will be mailed without charge upon request. A public hearing to consider the proposed ordinance is scheduled for Monday, October 31, 2016 at 9:00 AM, or soon thereafter, in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room of the County Annex Building, 1216 West Robert Bush Drive in South Bend, WA. FORMAL IDENTIFICATION: ELECTED OFFICIALS’ SALARIES – 2018-2021. SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 181: An ordinance further amending Ordinance No. 169, adopted November 13, 2012, which established the salaries of Pacific County’s elected officials. SECTION 1. Amended the monthly salaries of Pacific County’s elected officials beginning January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2021 per the salary table listed below: Position 2018 2019 2020 2021 Assessor $5,305.00 $5,411.00 $5,519.00 $5,629.00 Auditor $5,305.00 $5,411.00 $5,519.00 $5,629.00 Clerk $5,305.00 $5,411.00 $5,519.00 $5,629.00 Commissioner $5,305.00 $5,411.00 $5,519.00 $5,629.00 Treasurer $5,305.00 $5,411.00 $5,519.00 $5,629.00 Sheriff $6,628.00 $6,761.00 $6,896.00 $7,034.00 SECTION 2. Amended the monthly salary of the Prosecuting Attorney as follows: 2018: One half of the monthly salary of a superior court judge plus $3,994.00 2019: One half of the monthly salary of a superior court judge plus $4,074.00 2020: One half of the monthly salary of a superior court judge plus $4,155.00 2021: One half of the monthly salary of a superior court judge plus $4,238.00 Added SECTION 3. The fiscal year 2018 salaries listed in Section 1 and Section 2 include cost of living adjustments that are derived from the annual salaries adopted by the Board of County Commissioners within Resolution No. 2015-052, which was adopted concurrently with the fiscal year 2016 budget on November 2, 2015 following a public hearing with proper legal notice thereof. Each subsequent year from 2019 through 2021 contains a two percent (2%) cost of living adjustment compared to the previous year. SECTION 4. (Renumbered; previously Section 3) The salary tables in Section 1 and Section 2 will not be further modified unless this ordinance is amended after a public hearing is conducted upon such proposal with proper legal notice thereof. The actual salaries of the elected positions listed in Section 1 and Section 2 will be the lesser of (a) the amount authorized for that year within Section 1 and Section 2 or (b) the amount adopted as part of that year’s Final County Budget. SECTION 5. (Renumbered; previously Section 4) The authorized proportions of full-time work (the basis for determining actual salaries) of Pacific County's district court judges are: Electoral District #1-North Pacific County at fifty percent (50%); and Electoral District #2-South Pacific County at sixty percent (60%). SECTION 6. (Renumbered; previously Section 5) If any provision of this ordinance, or its application to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of it to other persons or circumstances, shall not be affected. SECTION 7. (Renumbered; previously Section 6) This ordinance shall become effective the 1st day of January 2018, and shall remain in full force and effect until duly and lawfully amended or repealed. At the conclusion of the hearing, the Board of Pacific County Commissioners may adopt, modify, or reject the proposed Ordinance, or may take other appropriate action. All interested persons are invited to attend this hearing and be heard.
