Okie’s Thriftway donates to Camp Victory

Brenda Bartlett from Okie´s Thriftway in Ocean Park recently presented a $500 check to Carol Clearman for Camp Victory.

OCEAN PARK — Brenda Bartlett from Okie’s Thriftway in Ocean Park recently presented a $500 check to Carol Clearman for Camp Victory, a nonprofit program that helps sexually abused boys and girls who are in need of any kind of help, guidance and therapy on the Peninsula. This money was raised from the sale of used books. Bartlett noted that some customers will buy books, read them, then bring them back for donation to sell again. Without those special customers none of this would be possible. Okie’s emphasized that any nonprofit organization on the Peninsula can sign up for such programs through Brenda Bartlett or Karen Gove at Okie’s Thriftway at 1820 Bay Ave. in Ocean Park or call at 665-5222.
