ILWACO — Friends and colleagues will be recounting the story of Gordon Huggins. Huggins passed away March 22.

He was on board the U.S.C.G. lifeboat Triumph when tragedy struck, as detailed in a Chinook Observer story last week. Five crewmen and two fishermen, Bert and Stanley Burgman of Ilwaco, were lost at the Columbia River bar. Only Huggins survived.

Salty Talk presentations are hosted upstairs in the Salt Hotel and Pub, 147 Howerton Avenue on the Ilwaco waterfront. The event is free to the public and starts at 6:30 p.m.
