SEAVIEW — After a two-year hiatus due to covid restrictions, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church along with the Ocean Beach United Presbyterian Church, held their annual Pancake Supper, also known as Shrove Tuesday, at the Peninsula Church Center on Feb. 21.
Historically, the celebration is the last chance for indulgence before fasting during Lent. Eggs, fat and milk are made into pancakes and eaten on that day.
In addition to the pancake meal, there was pancake racing, featuring young and old racing down the lane while flipping pancakes.
Donations were taken in support of MOPs — Mothers of Preschoolers — which is a faith-based organization that encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, leaders and their relationships with Jesus, in partnership with a local church.
Moms gather at the Peninsula Church Center weekly to discuss parenting skills, journeys and their lives.
This year the event took in $465 in donations, which goes toward scholarship programs.
