ASTORIA UNDERGROUND TOUR

On Aug. 13, the center will be going on an underground tour of Astoria. Come tour Astoria’s Underground with Chad and Jeff. They will safely escort you through the tunnels while providing entertainment, history, personal accounts, comedy and maybe even some surprises. The tour is 45-minutes along clear pathways on one level, easy for most ability levels. Conditions can be cool and damp, dress appropriately. Cost of the tour is $15 per person. Please pay at the PSAC Office to reserve your spot. Tour starts at 6:30 p.m. Groups are limited to 16 people per tour.

PICNIC IN THE PARK & BINGO

On Aug. 15 at 5 p.m., enjoy a picnic in the park and a game of bingo. The cost is $10 per person for dinner and the bingo is free. Dinner includes John’s famous shrimp country boil (shrimp, sausage, and potatoes baked in your own foil packet) and a corn-on-the-cob bar (ear of fresh cooked corn and four or five different flavored butters to choose from), plus salad and dessert for one low price. You can’t go wrong. And then after dessert, play a little bingo for prizes! Please R.S.V.P. in the office by Wednesday Aug. 14. Sorry, no last-minute reservations for this meal. If it rains, attendees will eat inside the clubhouse. {Go down 227th to Birch. Watch for the two large bears holding the Sunset Sands sign. Turn south and go about 1 mile. Turn right and drive up to the clubhouse.}

Book Club Leader

Do you have a passion for reading? Do you enjoy discussions? Can you gather information to help enhance discussions? Can you offer counter opinions – even if they differ from your own? Can you begin new lines of discussion when necessary? Are you willing and prepared to take control of the group, firmly but respectfully? PSAC can use your talents to help form a book club. If you can commit to a monthly meeting, please consider joining our dedicated team of volunteers. Call 360-665-3999 to volunteer today!
