Warner attending forum in nation’s capital

Zoey Warner is attending National Youth Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C. later this month.

OCEAN PARK — Zoey Warner of Ocean Park was recently selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: National Security — Diplomacy, Intelligence and Defense, program to be held in Washington, D.C. in late June. Her nomination was based on her academic performance among other requirements.

The six-day program includes a day in the life of national security, a tour of the nation’s memorials, a cyber security panel, national security strategy lessons, a career fair, a look at the CIA, Andrews Air Force Base, the Pentagon, Royal Embassy of Arabia, the human impact of national security including the Wounded Warrior Project, wreath laying ceremony and lots more.

Zoey is heavily involved in a variety of school activities including attending a WellSpring workshop on bullying in Yakima, lifeguard at Dunes Pool, a member of Pacific County Search and Rescue. She and her dad will be going to a mission trip in Mexico in July with a group from Peninsula Baptist Church.

Her dream is to be a first responder.

Zoey is the daughter of Robbert Warner and the granddaughter of Bev and Jess Champers of Ocean Park.
