ILWACO — Once again, due to the involvement and generosity of the community, Water Music Society, the non-profit organization that brings you Music in the Gardens (July 15), Jazz & Oysters (Aug. 19), Water Music Festival (Oct. 13-15) and the December Christmas Concert (Dec. 3) was able to present $5,000 to the Ilwaco High School Music Program.

Along with Rachel Lake, IHS music director, one drum major and six drum line members will be traveling to Eaton on June 28 to attend the Washington Marching Band Camps Drum Major and Drumline Academy. This intensive camp is for highly motivated high school students interested in perfecting marching, performance and parade fundamentals, including tips on choreography and visual techniques.

Any remaining money will go toward the Disney World trip in April 2018, in which 55 to 60 students from the Peninsula will attend Festival Disney, a highly regarded music competition and educational experience.
