Cyril Duane Anderson

LONG BEACH - Ocean Park resident Cyril Duane Anderson, 66, died Nov. 8, 2004, in Long Beach. The son of Cyril and Elsie (Tillstom) Anderson, he was born Oct. 12, 1938, in Elmira. He spent his early years growing up in Eastern Washington before moving to Portland, Ore. There he graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School.

Mr. Anderson worked as a millwright in the lumber industry in Portland, including 22 years with American Lumber Company. Following retirement he moved to the Surfside area of Ocean Park in 1997. He took great pride in maintaining his yard, was a Seattle Mariners fan, and enjoyed studying the history of the Northwest. He was a kind and gentle man who loved his family.

He and Anne Wade Kukula were married Aug. 8, 1991, and she survives. Also surviving are his mother Elsie Anderson of Portland; children Karen Bonifico and Kent Anderson both of Portland; step-children Christine Kukula-Barry of Piedmont, Calif., Peter Kukula of Vancouver and Jon Kukula of Ocean Park; sister Delores Minor of Florence, Ore.; brother John Anderson of Nampa, Idaho; and 11 grandchildren.

A private family service will be held later. The family requests memorials to the Crisis Support Network in care of Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, P.O. Box 417, Long Beach, WA 98631.
