ASTORIA — Clatsop Community College has appointed Associated Student Government officers for the winter term, including a Long Beach man. A committee of students, faculty and staff appointed the officers through an interview process.

The following students will serve in their positions for the winter term and have the option to continue into the spring term: Serena Orwick, president; Helen Johnson, student ambassador; Brian Van Gundy, publications representative; David Stull, events coordinator; Matt Mizell, student representative.

Stull has lived in Long Beach his entire life. After graduating from Ilwaco High School in 2009, he went on to Clark College in Vancouver to play baseball. He plans on completing this school year at Clatsop and then transferring to the University of Washington, where he will be a pre-med student and will major in biology.

The Associated Student Government (ASG) is a student leadership group that represents students’ concerns and ideas to the College Board, faculty and staff. As an ASG officer, students are provided with opportunities to demonstrate leadership skills and have an impact on the CCC student experience.
