CATHLAMET - The 2004 4th annual Derby Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Barbecue and Fishing Derby, held in Skamokawa on June 5, produced a total of $14,000 in funds to be used for scholarships for students of Cathlamet and Naselle High Schools.

Pat Kehrli, one of the organizing committee members, stated in a letter to workers and sponsors, "Your support helps us extend our efforts to invest in the future of more students, by providing them with motivation, hope and financial resources. Your participation and support is greatly appreciated and will benefit the students of Wahkiakum and Naselle High Schools for many years."
