OCEAN PARK - Elsie Marle Klecker, 83, died Jan. 24, 2003 in a Longview hospice. She was born Dec. 9, 1919 in Franklin to John and Sigrid Hill.

When she was a small child, the family moved to Cathlamet, where she spent most of her life, graduating from Wahkiakum High School in 1938.

In October 1940, she married Donald Klecker. She worked at the Cathlamet Pharmacy from 1942 until 1980, except for a few years when she worked at the Doumits Grocery Store in town. In 1983, the Klecker family moved to Ocean Park.

She was a member of the Eastern Star in Longview and Surfside Golf Club. She was an avid golfer; she had golfed from the mid-50s and had achieved five 'hole-in-one' shots. She won many championships at different golf clubs. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband: Donald at home in Ocean Park; son: Keith Klecker of Scappoose, Ore.; daughter: Darlene Nutter of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother: Archie Hill of Enumclaw, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Hill.

A private inurnment was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet. Memorial contributions may be made to: Community Home Health and Hospice at 1035 11th Avenue, Longview, WA 98632. Arrangements by Dowling Funeral Home of Cathlamet.
