Enthusiasm among Junior Loyalty girls

LONG BEACH — With just a couple months left until Loyalty Days, there are 11 local fifth graders who will make up the 2011 Junior Miss Loyalty court and serve as ambassadors of the Peninsula. Pictured are: Front row — Brianna George, Hailey Murray, Makayla Olson, Keily Grimes and Kasey Bageant. Back row — Madison Chabot, Madeline Jacobson, 2010 Junior Miss Loyalty Taylor Kemmer, Chandelle Thomas and Jacklyn Habermann. Not pictured — Mariah Wade.

This year marks the 61st consecutive Loyalty Days celebration on the Peninsula. In honor of the 10-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Loyalty Days will honor first responders this year. Unlike previous years, there will not be a senior Miss Loyalty court this year due to low participation numbers.
