RAYMOND - Everett C. Blake, 83, a life-time Raymond resident, died March 25, 2004, at the family home in Raymond. Mr. Blake was born July 20, 1920, to Alfred and Maude (Lee) Blake.

He was a World War II Army Veteran. In addition to being a lifetime member of the VFW Post No. 968 and a lifetime member of the Raymond Elks, he was also a member of the Raymond Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, clam digging and golfing.

Mr. Blake worked as a State Labor and Industries inspector at the Aberdeen branch for 25 years prior to his retirement.

He married his wife, Irene Wiitala, 55 years ago, in Naselle in June of 1949. She survives at the family home. Other survivors include a son Wayne and his wife Jennifer Blake of Naselle; grandson Severy Blake of Ventura, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Elmo in 1949.

A celebration of his life will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 3 at the Burger Barge Restaurant in Raymond.
